A great beach for exploring at low tide! Soooooo many sand dollars & sea stars. Lots of sea life here. We’ve also seen seals very close to shore. It’s a bit of a trek to the beach, but worth it if you like exploring the intertidal area.
Really cute park. Not tons of hiking trails but it’s perfect for the kiddos. We stayed at the water for a lot of the time and it was beautiful! Definitely rocky beach, no sand. But a lot of fallen trees by the water which the kids loved climbing. It was a ton of fun for a little day trip.
This park is good, as its not heavily crowded usually and no problem finding parking spots.
Things that you should watch out for
-Bring a soft blanket as its filled with pebbles and not having enough cushion might make you feel to not sit for a while
-The steps are little steep and it is tough to drag/carry stuffs to the beach.
Tip: use the side way which is blocked for vehicles for walking down the beach to carry the stuffs like tent, beach chair, food etc. We actually found that by the end of the trip as steps were not that comfortable.
Beautiful park with *very* short trails and a quick one down to a great (rocky) beach. We enjoyed the upper loop trail and the middle one too (took all of 15 minutes) and then headed down the beach to cool off. Loads of picnic tables in the lower part of the park. Lots of shaded parking, even at 2:00 p.m. on a sunny Sunday. Lots of families at this fairly calm beach.
Last leg of the trip around the Washington peninsula. Rewarded with our third sunset while car camping. No overnight camping in the kopachuck park but this area is a feast for the eyes.
We went to a rocky beach that is about a 2 block walk from the parking lot. Great views from the beach, as shown by the pics I posted. There's also quite a few hiking trails in the park! I took 1 star away because there is a fee to get in.
Nice coastal beach park, many people kayaking. Saw some seals
very pretty but very limited beachfront, all shrubbery and rocks. steep hill. Also there's no map of the park I could find. nice bathrooms though. lots of picnic tables.
